Just Be Free is an unofficial album of American pop singer Christina Aguilera's early demo recordings, which were submitted when she was fourteen and fifteen years old. These tracks were never intended to be released to the public, but were instead used as a tool to enter the music industry.In 2000, by which time she was a household name, a single emerged into record stores called "Just Be Free", one of the demos Aguilera recorded. When RCA Records discovered the single, they officially advised fans not to purchase it, since it was unauthorized, and had German authorities pull the single off shelves as well. Months later, Warlock Records was set to release Just Be Free, an album which contains the demo tracks. Aguilera filed a breach of contract and unfair-competition suit against Warlock and former producers Michael Brown and Robert Alleca in an effort to block the release, arguing that the album didn't reflect her music direction because of her age when she recorded it, and how they used Aguilera's name, likeness and image without permission to advertise a product.
In the end, the two parties came to a settlement to release the album to the public. She lent out her name, likeness and image for an unspecified amount of damages. Many of the details of the lawsuit remain confidential. When the album was released on August 21, 2001, it had a photograph of Aguilera when she was fifteen years old, and the following statement from her written in its liner notes:
Dear Friends:
Just Be Free was recorded when I was 14 and 15 years old. At that young age, I made the recordings as a possible stepping stone to a career in music, which is my ultimate passion. They were made just so that I could get my foot in the door of the music business.
I did not intend that the recordings would be widely released, especially after I signed with a major record label. I have not updated or finished the versions recorded in my childhood, and they are being released "as is," although I tried to prevent the release for several years.
The recordings do not in any way reflect my current musical taste and where I am as an artist. The growth and vocal development I experienced as I matured into young adulthood is not reflected in the recordings. The album of new recordings that I intend to release this fall will be the album that truly reflects my artistry, my vision, and my passion. The Just Be Free recordings will hopefully be a footnote in a musical career that I dream will last for many years to come.

In This Skin is the third album by American pop singer Jessica Simpson, released on August 19, 2003 (on the same year as Iraq War). A version of the album with bonus tracks and a DVD was released on March 2, 2004 to build on the success of the album. Eventually, the album was certifed 3X Platinum.In This Skin reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 album charts and made the Australian album charts in 2004. While the Diane Warren song the "Sweetest Sin" reached the US Top 40, the second single "With You" enjoyed more success going top 20 in the US and Australian singles charts as well as going top 20 in the world adult charts. The third single, a cover of "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin, went top 40 on the US Top 40 Mainstream Charts, appearing as a bonus track on the album version appearing in 2004. How Do You Do - part of it sounds almost too Avril Lavigne/Kelly Clarkson like, but the addition of religious imagery and various languages makes it a good track.
Illegal - the made-for-AC-radio ballad includes some fierce guitar playing by Carlos Santana. Very pretty and almost sounds like something from the 1980's
Hips Don't Lie - just added to the album... Shakira successfully did what the likes of J. Lo and Mariah have always failed to do when collaborated, she made Wyclef Jean assimilate to HER style of music, as opposed to her doing a hip hop number. A Latin-sounding booty-shaking fun track that is climbing the charts.
Animal City - one of the two most rocking tracks on the album, Shakira sings about celebrity and the way people change around her and become greedy.
The Day And The Time - a beautiful track about hope and redemption
Dreams For Plans - meloncholy but beautiful, with just a hint of Portishead trip-hop to the mix
Hey You - this sounds almost like something No Doubt would do, very fun song that you will tap your toes and sing along to, a potential single IMO.
Your Embrace - one of the saddest songs on the record, but another pretty melodic ballad
Costume Makes The Clown - instead of being the cheated... Shakira is the unfaithful one and she's trying to apologize to her boyfriend, a rocker
Something - Shakira sings in French and gives us another ballad, albeit more alternative sounding than the other tracks
Timor - this is the dance track, sounds a bit like a Madonna track. Shakira is singing about the oppressed and the government... even though she's singing about South America, I think Shakira's gay fanbase can definately adopt this track because it applies to them too... definately remix-worthy
